Competency Custom Attributes Competency custom attributes can be created to capture competency information unique to your company for organization and filtering purposes. They are applied at the competency level, further describing the competency.To create and manage competency custom attributes, your role must have unrestricted access to the Competency Attributes feature.Manage Competency Custom AttributesCreate a Competency Custom Attribute Go to Manage Center > Talent > Competency Manager > Competency Attributes. Click + Create Competency Attribute. In the Attribute Code field, enter a unique code for the attribute. In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for the attribute. For multi-language systems you can enter the label key that will be used to look up the localized name in the user's preferred language. In the Type field, select the type of data represented by the attribute. Competency attributes can be any of the following data types, which determine what type of values can be assigned to them: Free text (a single line of text up to 255 characters) Text area (multiple lines of text) Drop-down (select the value from a list). Note: You will need to save the attribute before you can add values to the drop-down list. Please see Configure the Attribute Drop-Down Values below for additional information. Numeric (In PeopleFluent Learning versions up to and including 21.04, fractional numbers less than 1 must start with a zero; for example, 0.75, not .75). Select the Sum total when printing or reporting checkbox (located below the Type field) if you want to show the sum of values. Check box Date (a calendar tool to select a date) In the Display Area Settings section, choose where the attributes will be displayed in the system. Competency Details - displays the attribute in the when a user views a competency's details. Learning Path - displays the attribute in the Competency Summary page in the learning path. Click Save. The attribute is added to the list. Attributes can be edited, but there are restrictions on changing an attribute's type. For additional information, please see Allowed Transitions Between Dynamic Attribute Types. Configure Attribute Category Drop-Down ValuesIf you selected Drop-down in step 5 above, configure drop-down values. In the appropriate attribute, scroll down the page and locate the Competency Attribute Values section Click Add New Option. Configure the value. Repeat steps 1-3 to include additional values. Click Save. Set the Attribute PermissionsLocate the appropriate competency attribute on the Competency Attributes page. Click the action menu and select Permissions. Read-only allows the user to filter search results by attribute and use an attribute as search criteria, as well as assign the attribute to a competency. Unrestricted additionally allows the user to update, delete and set permissions for the attribute. Delete a Competency Attribute To delete a single competency attribute, locate the appropriate attribute on the Competency Attributes page. Click the action menu and select Delete. To delete multiple attributes, click the checkboxes for the appropriate attributes on the Competency Attributes page. In the Bulk Action field, select Delete. Competency attributes that are being used in competencies cannot be deleted.Managing Attribute Values in the CompetencyUsers with unrestricted access to a competency can set the values for the competency attribute. Go to Manage Center > Talent > Competency Manager > Competency Models. On the Competency Models page, locate the appropriate competency. Click on the action menu and select Edit competency. Locate the appropriate custom attribute and set the value. Custom attributes are located below the Active checkbox in the Competency Details section. Click Save. Are you a PeopleFluent administrator?
