Create & Manage Certifications Certifications are used to formally recognize learners as having a particular achievement or skill set. Typically, certifications are provided upon completion of learning events or the passing of an exam. Learners can use them to demonstrate their skills in specific areas. Certifications can also be listed in third-party tools, such as LinkedIn, as evidence of course completion or skill attainment. To create, edit and delete certifications, your role must have unrestricted access to the Certifications feature.Create a Certification Go to Manage Center > Learning > Certification Manager > Certifications. Click + Create Certification. Configure the certification fields as required. Use the table below for guidance: Section Description Certification Details Here, you will configure the main details of the certification. Certification Code (required) - enter a unique code. Certification Name (required) - enter a descriptive name for the code. Certification Pool - select an option from the drop-down list to assign the certification to a pool. For more information, please see Certification Pools. Certification Type - select an option from the drop-down list to assign the certification a specific type. For more information, please see Certification Types. Language - select the primary language. You can add language bundles to certifications separately. See Add a Language Bundle to the Certification for more information. Active - select this checkbox to make the certification active. Note that only active certificates can be awarded. Issued By - enter the name of the issuing person or organization. Certification Description - enter a comment (max 255 characters). Award Method - Select Immediately to award the certification immediately upon completion of requirements (user completes a course or passes an exam). Otherwise, select Award this certificate on the following date(s) to enter the day and month to award the certification every year. Click + Add another date to award the certification on multiple dates throughout the year. Award Message - click Select to choose or create an email template to notify the user of the certificate award. Assigned Certification Exam - click Select to choose the exam that must be passed in order for the certification to be awarded. Leave this field blank if the certification should be awarded on completion of a course. Certificate Here you will configure details around the printable certificate that accompanies the certification. Certification Template (PDF) - click the browse icon to choose the PDF certificate. Allow user to print certificate - click this checkbox to allow the PDF certificate to be downloaded. Attach certification notifications to - if you selected an email template for the award message in the Certification Details section, you can choose to attach the PDF certificate for email recipients here. Expiration/Renewal Policy Here, you will set the details for certification expiration and renewal. Expiry Date- select Never (the certification will not expire), After for it to expire after a configured number of days (with an optional grace period) or On to set a specific expiry date (and optionally set it to expire on that same date for a specified number of years). Base on previous expiry date - this option applies to certifications awarded at course completion. If a previous certification is still valid, select this check box to base the certification's next expiry date on the expiry date of the previous certification. If the previous certification has expired, selecting this check box bases the certification's next expiry date ion the award date of the new certification. Days Prior to Expiration for Sending a Reminder Message and to Re-enroll User in Module/Program - enter the number of days before the certification expires to send a reminder email to learners. If you do not want to send emails, enter 0. Certification Expiration Reminder Message - select the template to use for the expiration reminder email. When this certification expires, automatically enroll the learner in selected module - click the checkbox and then click Select to choose an automatic enrollment course when the certification expires. Only learners who meet following criteria can be automatically enrolled - if you configured an automatic enrollment, you can select this option to specify learners who can automatically be enrolled. Click Create certification. Set the Certification PermissionsOnce a certification is saved, you can set the permissions. Locate the appropriate item on the Certifications page, open it for editing and click the Permissions link. Use the permission selector, following the guidelines below: Read-only allows the user to view a certification. Unrestricted additionally allows the user to update, delete and set permissions for the certification. Add a Language Bundle to the CertificationYou can add language bundles to certifications to provide the name, description and a translated PDF certificate in any of the languages for which there is a license in the LMS. On the Certifications page, locate the appropriate certification. Click the action menu and select Manage Language Bundles. Click + Add Language Bundle. Select a language to assign to the certification. Enter the certification name in the new language. Click Add. Delete a Certification To delete an individual certification, locate the appropriate item on the Certifications page. Click the action menu and select Delete. To delete multiple certifications, click the checkboxes for the appropriate items on the Certifications page. In the Bulk Action field, select Delete. Are you a PeopleFluent administrator?
