The CDC Career Center

The CDC Career Center focuses on a learner's career; including career training, job profiles, competencies and more. Here, you can also share files with the learners.

Access to the CDC, and the available pages and tasks, is dependent on your permissions. If you should have access to the Review page and specific tasks and information within, but do not, please contact your system administrator.

Accessing the Career Center

  1. Go to Home > Workspace > Review. Learners are categorized into three tabs:
  • Direct Appraiser Review - lists the learners who are your direct appraisees.
  • Assigned Group Review - lists the learners who are members of users groups you supervise.
  • Organization View - lists all learners who are visible to you across all organizations.
Organization View requires a separate permission that allows you to review users by organization.  If you should have access to this tab, but do not see it, please contact a system administrator.
  1. Select the appropriate tab to locate the learner.
  2. Click the learner's action menu and select Review Career Center.  The CDC opens in a new window with the Career Center page active.

Use the table below for guidance about the information and available tasks on the Career Center pages.

Job Profile

Here, you can view and manage a learner's job profiles. 

  • Click the job profile name to see job profile's details and competencies,
  • To assign a job profile to the learner, click Assign job profile.
  • To de-assign a job profile from a learner, click the job profile name to open its details page and then click De-Assign Job Profile.
Competencies

On this page, you can review, award, revoke and update a learner's competencies.

  • To view its details, click a competency name. Here, you can view the learner's proficiency level, and acquisition method, along with details about the competency itself, including related learning modules.
  • To update a learner's proficiency level, click the Level Code drop-down field and select the new level.
  • To award a competency to the learner, click + Award Competency.  Use the Competecy Model and/or Competency Name/Description filter fields to locate the appropriate competency. Then select a proficiency level from the Select Level field.
  • To revoke a competency, click the competency's action menu and select Revoke Competency.
Training Gap Analysis

This page lists the courses required for a learner's assigned job profiles that they have not been enrolled in or completed, thereby identifying the page beween the learner's training requirements and completed training.

  • To see the courses required for a specific job profile assigned to the learner, select an option from the Job Profile drop-down field.
  • To see the course details page for a course, click the course name.
  • To assign a course to the learner, click Assign to User. The Enrollment Confirmation page opens, where you may need to enter additional enrollment information, such as a preferred date. Click Confirm enrollment and the learner is enrolled in the course.
File Sharing

Here, you can upload files to share with the learner.  Some learners (subject to permissions) can also upload files to share with you. Note that files can only be deleted by the user who uploaded them.

  • To upload a file to share, click Upload.
  • To download a file, click its name in the list.
