Proxied Launch Packages

You can generate an AICC course package from a learning module, so that it can be imported into another AICC-conformant learning management system. This enables the course to be launched from the other system while the learner's progress information is recorded in PeopleFluent Learning, and is also communicated to the system from which the course was launched.

It is not necessary for the course to support AICC communication directly—it could be a SCORM course or LMS exam, for example—AICC communication is simply the mechanism that relays progress tracking information to the launching LMS.

Generate a Proxied Launch Package

First, ensure the learning system site from which the course will be launched is included as a trusted site in the LMS:

  1. Go to Manage Center > System > General > System Configuration.
  2. Select General from the Category options.
  3. Locate the Trusted sites for proxied course launches setting.  If the hostname or IP address is not already present, add it here.
  4. Click Save.

Now, you can generate the launch package:

  1. Go to Manage Center > Learning > Catalog General Settings > Learning Modules and open the appropriate module.
  2. On the Module Properties tab, click Proxied Launch Package.
  3.  Select the character encoding for the course content from the Encoding drop-down list.
  4. Click Generate package. The AICC package file is downloaded to your local system as a ZIP file.

Bulk Generate a Proxied Launch Package

As with generating a single proxied launch package, you will need to ensure that the learning system's host name or IP address is included as a trusted site in system configuration, using the instructions above.

  1. Go to Manage Center > Learning > Catalog General Settings > Learning Modules and select the check boxes for the appropriate modules.
  2. From the drop-down menu, click Generate Proxied Launch Package.
  3. Click Generate package. If any module selected is not an Online type, an error message will be displayed instead of the modal.  The AICC package file is downloaded to your local system as a ZIP file.
