General Class Resources General class resources are any materials needed by the instructor or participants for classroom-based training sessions; projectors, flip charts or laptops, for example. They are specific to a training center or facility, restricting them to a particular location. To manage class resources, your user role must have unrestricted access to the Class Resource Manager feature.Create a Class Resource Go to Manage Center > Learning > Class Resource Manager > Class Resources. Click + Create Resource. Enter the class resource details. Use the table below for guidance: The table below describes the standard fields that are available for general class resources. Your organization may also use custom class resource attributes. For information, please see Class Resource Attributes. Field Description Code Enter a unique code for the resource. This field is mandatory. Name Enter a name for the resource. This field is mandatory. Image for class resource Here, you can select an image from the Repository Manager to associate with the resource. Click the browse icon and select an image. If the image is larger than 150 x 150 pixels, you can scale it in the Image Editor. Training Center To restrict the resource to a specific training center, select it from the drop-down list. Facility To restrict the resource to a specific facility in the selected training center, select it from the drop-down list. Resource Type Select the type of resource from the drop-down list. If none of the predefined types accurately reflect the type of resource, select Other. Outlook Reference Enter the Outlook reference address. This is required for Exchange Server integration. Serial Number If the resource has a serial number, you can enter it here. Serial numbers help you keep track of multiple identical resources. Description Enter a text description for the resource. Quantity on Hand Enter how many instances of this resource are available. This field is mandatory. Pre Processing Time Enter the number of days notice required before the resource can be booked. For example, if three days pre-processing time is required to book the resource, it cannot be scheduled within three days of creating the event. Pre-processing time might include transporting the resource from storage or another training location, for example. Post Processing Time Enter the number of days required to process the resource after the end of a scheduled event (for example, a classroom training session). The resource will not be available for booking for this number of days after its scheduled booking. Click Save.Schedule Events for a Class ResourceYou can schedule "Events" for class resources to book them for a specific date. From here, you can also create a new module session, booking the resource at the same time. On the Class Resources page, locate and open the appropriate class resource. Click on the Schedule tab. Click + Create Event. Configure the event. For additional information about configuring and managing events, please see Events. To view any existing scheduled events for the resource, you click on its action menu and select View Schedule.Delete a Class ResourceTo delete a resource, locate the appropriate resource on the Class Resources page.
